In our pipe support evaluations we've always considered friction for all load cases, both static and dynamic (including waterhammer, global vibrations etc).
We do feel that this is quite conservative, but haven't found a convincing argument to reduce this assumption.
Now we've found that...
Hi all,
I am working on a pretty basic J-integral problem on a 2D geometry.
I have been told that the J-values should be path-independent even inside the plastic zone in ABAQUS. However, I get path-dependent values of J on all contours inside the plastic zone, I was therefore wondering whether...
Hi everyone,
As I mentioned in a previous thread, I am trying to create my own J-integral post-processor. I've managed to create a script that creates the contours which was my first problem.
At first I assumed that the integration points in ABAQUS were ordinary Gauss points, and hence created...
Hi everyone,
I am trying to implement a modified version of the J-integral into ABAQUS, and as I am quite new to the program I have loads of problems. :-(
I thought the best way to go about doing this would be to make a Python script, as I have no experience with Subroutines or Fortran.
The...
