My Workplace is planning on investing in a LS-DYNA license and together with that, a dedicated computer that will run the computations.
What kind of processors/ram configurations are recommended for LS-DYNA computations?
Could someone point me in the right direction?
I am having a problem with the plane orientation.
When hitting "normal to" on a plane, I find the sketch rotated, see image.
Is there a way to alter the plane orientation? Everytime I create a new plane, it is oriented in this rotated way which is a pain when sketching..
Is it possible to set the color of a part or material in the .key file? I don´t want to run a macro each time I open prepost to change the color of each part.
I'm looking to buy a laptop to use for some "not so advanced" CAD modeling in Solid Works. I will be modeling parts for helmets so there will be some surface modeling and small assemblies.
I'm looking for the cheapest laptop with a ~17" screen that does the job.
Which would you recommend?
I've...
I have created a concave surface that I want to be ~1mm thick. Can I convert my surface into a solid? Or can I somehow create another, smaller surface (with the original surface as a template) so that they are separated 1mm apart?
I'm new to surfacing and trying to figure out how the bluesurf command works.
I'm trying to make a beveled surface that follow the lines in this geometry:
I can't figure out how to use bluesurf when I have a closed "circle".
I have a very noicy rotational acceleration curve from an impact to a dummy head. The impact has a duration of ~10ms and I wish to smooth it out without compromising the data. What type of filter is suitable for this?
I have been using a "sliding average" and butterworth filter but not sure...
I am simulating a head/helmet impact. The helmet modeled with a foam material and is fitted on the head with initial penetration. I use the contact "*CONTACT_SURFACE_TO_SURFACE_INTERFERENCE_ID".
During the impact I can see that there is no sliding between the head and the helmet regardless of...
I have measured the pressure between the head and the helmet that arises when wearing a helmet, using pressure sensitive film. The purpose is to see how the pressure is distributed around the head. The film was applied to the head like a sweatband and is divided into a number of sensors that...
I am performing helmet testing where a helmeted head form is being dropped on an inclined plate. The head form contains 9 accelerometers so that the rotational acceleration can be measured.
The results from the experimental tests are to be used to validate the FEA model I am working with.
The...
I am doing a finite element analysis using LS-DYNA of a helmeted head form being struck on an inclined plate.
The helmet and head is given an initial speed of 5.3 ms in the Z direction. As a result of the impact to the inclined plate, the helmeted head starts to rotate in the Y axis. The problem...
