How to check a PCB Prototype

Hi! What are the basic steps in order to check your new prototype board? What should you check at first...things like supply, clocks(to see if the board is working and then what)? Thanks!

    SPI BUS and slave devices

Hi guys, I have a SPI bus with several slave devices, usb controller, tranceiver and sensors. There is an independent slave select line for each slave. If I am not wrong most devices must have tri-state outputs that become high impedance ("disconnected") when the device is not selected. I have...

Problem with 2 different supply voltages on PCB

Hi everyone, I have a 2 layer board with one GSM and one GPS module. The operation voltage is 3.7V and 3.3V for the GSM and GPS. Is there a problem for the two voltages to be on the same board? The tracks are not very close to each other(4 cm at least) and the board thickness is 0.5mm. If the...

    Has anyone used Eagle Cadsoft?

Hi I'm using Eagle Cadsoft v5.0. I'm making a board with four layers. Top-Signal Layer2-GND Layer3-Vcc Bottom-Signal My question is why I can't define a supply layer after having placed tracks between the layers. If I try to do so it pops me out error saying that...

Choose Switching Regulator for Telit GM862-GPS module...

Hi I want to use a step down regulator from 9 Volt battery to 3.8 Volts of GM862-GPS module of Telit. I have looked at maxim's regulators but I can't figure out which one is more suitable for the GSM. I want a regulator as simple as possible (with one DC output)..... Thanks in avanced :)

Where can I find bidirectional Rf amplifier?

Hi I need to find a bidirectional rf amp, surface mounted at 2.4 GHz. I could use switches and two rf amps but I would rather not to(I have one rx/tx path).I haven't found something though I have searched the net :) Thanks in advanced!

RF Switch in non supported state

Hi, I want to use an RF Switch that has two control signals A,B and supports only two states (RFC to RF1 and RFC to RF2)according to the input voltages at A,B. What would happen if I put the same voltage at the two control lines(0 Volts at A and 0 Volts at B). I want the switch to be off! I...

    2 Antennas&Power splitter issue

Hi, I want to make a RF circuit where: -Tranmission is done with one or two antennas(by choice) -Reception with one (as there is only one rx path) I use a transceiver with one Tx/Rx path. So I suppose I can split the output signal of the transceiver in two separates antennas (Pout=1/2 Pin)...

Search for a 2.4GHz smd power divider

Hi, does anyone knows where can I find smd power divider for 2.4 GHz. I have searched every possible manufacturer and the ones I found are up to 2.3 GHz. Does such an smd exists? I know I can make one (wilkinson divider) but there isn't enough space on the pcb. Thanks a lot.

    Test equipment

Hi, in the lab I work we want to buy some test equipment, such as Network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, oscilloscope to perform RF tests. What would be your suggestion(Agilent, Tecktronix..?).We want good stuff but not the most expensive.

    Antennas for Wireless Sensor Networks

Hi, I have an issue with antenna implementation in a WSN. Imagine that we have tree nodes that want to communicate. Each node has two antennas of the same type. The signal is splitted through a splitter towards the two antennas. So the first node n1 can communicate simultaneously with the other...
