Different Types of Hydraulic Fluid?
I'm working on a project where I am considering using hydraulic cylinders. The problem is regular hydraulic fluid is not very desierable in this application. I would like to know if there is anyother type of fluid that could be used without compromising the pump, cylinder, or other componets...- jesutton3

Aluminum
I'm in the process of designing a bolted aluminum connection. I'm not that familiar with working with aluminum. Is it ok to use the same formulas and priciples of bolted steel connections but use the values for aluminum instead? Or is there a completly different set of equations for aluminum?- jesutton3

Actuator type?
I am a structural engineer working on a weekend project. I need something to move a 1000 lb load 4-6 inches on 12V DC. The load will only be a pulling load in a straight line. It will need to pull to raise the load hold it until pins can be engaged and then be able to lower it after the pins...- jesutton3
