Designing an Emergency Operation Centre
What length of time can you store Potable cold water for an emergency scenario without applying any circulation or water treatment?
If you have a potable water storage tank filled with generic treated city water for 5 days use (state of emergency...
Gents,
I posed a question over a year ago with regards to window sprinklers. Just want to clarify.
If you use Tyco WS "closed" window sprinklers do they need to be on their own zone?
Was putting window sprinklers on their own zone only due to the older "open type" heads?
Application is...
Gents,
NFPA 22 says fire water tank vent needs to be minimum of 2".
Somewhere (long ago) i've heard that the tank vent needs to be at least 1 pipe size larger then suction line to fire pump.

Folks,
I have just went through the 2006 thread with regards to Standpipes and Multiple FDC's etc. However I still have a couple of long winded questions. I apologize in advance.
When designing a combined system (standpipe/sprinkler system)the hydraulic calcs. includes calculating 500 gpm @...
Has anyone gotten specific. data from NFPA or AHJ's with regards to at what point during a renovation does an existing hydraulic calc'd system require a new hydraulic calculation performed.
Existing pipe schedule system can have pipe schedule done on reno's up to 5000ft2.
I've looked...
I have looked through NFPA 13 and cannot seem to find the answer. Designing an Elementary/High School, I believe the architect is looking at using glass on the exit/stairwells. We need to provide window sprinklers. If there are 5 sets of emergency stairwells, do you require to only flow one...
