A customer is asking me to design a nozzle welding to a forged valve body.
The thickness T1 of the valve body is large overdesigned.
OD2 and T2 (see attachment) are NPS & SCHEDULE of a standard pipe, and the schedule is the same of the main valve (Valve 12" #2500 SCH.160 -> Nozzle NPS 1"...
API 14D was cancelled in 1999.
API 17D defines 2 “SERVICES”: Standard service and SANDY SERVICE.
Standard service is completely defined in API 17D.
API 17D doesn’t give info about the sandy service, the standard says that for sandy service we have to look at API 14D.
But what we can do if the...
Hi,
API 17D speaks for “actual or simulated” external pressure for the valve-actuator assembly test.
Do you know what “actual or simulated” mean?
Do I need really to test the valve when external subsea pressure is applied?
Thanks
A Customer is asking ma a swing check subsea valve.
The thecnical specification is not really clear, all the design is referred to API 6D. Only the coating spec. is special.
Do you have experience of standard subsea check valves?
There are some special features in the design or a swing check...

A Custumer ask me a Self Venting Plug on a valve equipped with low emission packing.
This Plug help to measure the lakage rate of the valve packing.
I really don't know that it is.
Do you know?
Thank you
Hallo everybody!
I know that a lot of valves manufactures use for high pressure sevice the 17Cr material for the valve stem (as alternative to 13Cr / F6).
As 17Cr i know only the 1.4122, but i don't find any ASME/ASTM equivalence.
What ASTM material can I use for this scope????
I need a stem...

How can I consider the additional preload needed in the seat-gate valve system to maintain the compressive load

Can I use for this problem the...
