I have done a great deal of googling for this, with no luck.
How might one reference a dimension used in model construction geometry for use in a circular hole callout.
eg:
<NUM_INST>X <MOD-DIAM> <hw-tapdrldia> <HOLE-DEPTH> <hw-tapdrldepth>
<hw-threaddesc> <hw-threadclass> <HOLE-DEPTH>...
is this possible? I don't need this for drawing callouts, but would like it for mass properties.
there is a slick tool in solid edge to do something like this.
I do not have a lot of sheet metal experience with solidworks, or really any 3d solid modeler; however i find myself needing to model/detail a fairly complex sheet metal part.
3d sketch attached, this is what i am trying to make.
where do i start? thinned solid? what about the bend radii?

I have been playing around with templates and formats, and i have somehow managed to turn on a leader linking ordinate dimensions... how might one turn this off?
If i have a movable assembly (hinge), how do i keep it movable in a parent? I am used to there being a switch (inventor/solidedge) but curious how does one do this in solidworks?
if i have an assembly where movement of a component is desirable (purposely one unconstrained DOF), each movement results in the system wanting to regenerate. Is this how it is? or does a parts have to be marked as movable?
Coming from inventor, i am used to coordinate system of the first part in the assembly with align with the coordinate system of the assembly. Is there a way to force this in solidworks (2008)? It does not seem to be doing this by default. It is not actually apparently how it is determining...
The drawing tool bar from "broken out view" has gone missing? how might one get it back?
Its not under view or tools, which seem to be the only tabs available. Its pretty difficult to make a broken out view when you cannot a profile to make it work.
Thanks for any help.
is there a way to extract the sketch from a feature? like "share sketch" from inventor? I have created a feature and would like to use its sketch to drive subsequent features without having to child "dumb" sketchs?
tear-off sketch is the closest thing that i can find, but does not seem to...
I was fooling about with the internal SE FEA. However every time i go to apply a constraint to my part, it seems to upset the just applied force, and will not let me continue without redefining the force, which in turn is upset again by the application of the constraints. Any help?

I am having trouble performing some 3d frame design.
The tool will work correctly, with 2D planer frames.
The tool will not work at all for 3D frames; places my tubing x-section at assembly origin, with original "stub" length.
Thanks in advance for any help.

trying to mate the inside edge of 3 plates to the surface of a tube. Picture should say it all.

Thanks in advance
I am trying to mate this gusset parallel to the large tube.
Using a parallel mate i have attached the edge to the box component but cannot figure out how to pin down the other side, its sorta flapping in the breeze right now.
its a compound angle and is NOT tangent to the outside of the large...
This is something that i used to do ALOT with inventor and solidworks, is there a simlar construct in SE? I cannot fine something simlar.
I am trying to perform some tube construction, and have a main tube which is to be dilled out at a funny angle to allow the passing of two smaller tubes...
