I am having this issue lately, which just started a week ago.
Few of the assemblies when I try to make a change and save it. It prompts me under Cannot create a file when that file already exists. upon exiting I witness that filename has a new version with .newVer added at the end.

We have a to find an equivalent fluid that is equivalent to light crude oil (specially viscosity property) that we can readily use. Please if anyone know of any substitute and also what we need to be aware of in this regards.
Properties of actual fluid is as follows,

I have a supply of 480V with +/- 10% variation. I understand the nominal voltage rating for most motors is 460V with +/- 10%. Is it a safe selection. I am just concerned with the supply if it hikes to +10% then my motor will fail.
I am in the situation where our supplier is short on SAE J429 grade 5. Looking to see if SAE J249 grade 8 will comply with ASME B31.3 process piping. Flange connections are 4, 6 & 8".
Any help, reference or link will be appreciated,
Thanks
I am looking to find as much information about designing a metering skid,
Metering purpose - Fiscal
Service - Liquid Sulphur to another pipeline (main)
Some of the process data is available.
The reason for my post is this will be the very first time I would be involved in it. I understand...
We are having a debate on if we should use Weldolets or regular pipe section welded to make branch connections.
I am browsing the web for any comparison.
Application is for light crude oil @ 350 GPM with 95 psi.
The reason for this debate is mainly if we can find a fitting where a...
We have a cooling pumping system where we usually will run propylene-glycol-water mixture. But for floor test we are using just water which is looped thru a DI resin tank to drop the conductivity, specially thru aluminum heat exchangers.
As long as the system runs, we don't get any problem we...

hi,
I am not a structural engineer but I have this issue on my lap where I need to give specs on foundation requirement(operation frequency due to vibration) for a pump skid. Following is the working conditions.
the pump motor is operating at 60Hz (460V 3PH). Motor is 4 pole (1800RPM). Gearbox...
Is there a way in tools>application option to preset a rule so when I mirror component it is derived by same constraints of parents parts. I always have to construct new constraint on my mirrored component again.
Has anybody used it. I just started to use this a week ago. It is a mystery in our company as how this works so far. We have been using tubes & pipes from CC which I think is a passive approach towards the design. Also is there someone who has used vault along with routed systems for piping (not...
We use ASME slip on/Socket weld flanges on our pump skids that deals with mostly water or glycol. We have a project where the medium is petroleum. My project engineer mentioned we can only use weld neck since they operate on higher pressure, but still unsure. Is there any data (tried API...

I carry a substantial experience in CAD using Inventor & CATIA. Never had a chance to work in Solidworks, I have two job leads that require that. I know its not easy to satisfy the employer, specially HR personnel upfront that carrying on tasks on any other CAD package is pretty similar, just...
Hi all,
I have a strong interest in this time of career to get involve in FEA work. I never had a chance to even touch any software but I do have a significant reading, which is obviously employers don't look. I can take any suggestion here be it be a book, free software, training or whatever...
I am using AIS 09 and I have noticed, lately my sketches are not constrained properly. Before I used to have coincident constraints automatically at the endpoints, but now I have to manually constraint each and everyone of them, which is time consuming. I have checked every options in...
