    ASCE -07 seismic loading

    Hi, I am using ASCE-07 for the first time for seismic loading. I have found it very different from UBC 97 which i usually use, Can any one suggest a good reference for using this code for seismic loading of the building. p.s. i am not in USA.

    to check if beam crack is live or not

    There are minor cracks in the midspan of the beam, i want to check if the cracks are "LIVE" and still increasing or not. I usually paste 2mm thick 5" long glass stips exactly below the crack, so if glass breaks it means crack is still expnading ? is this correct or not ? any better suggestions ?
