I was requested to design a replacement of an existing pipe saddle support inside a tunnel. The pipe diameter is 900mm and spacing is 7.50m. Does anyone have a guidelines/ procedure on how to design this support.Any opinions are highly appreciated.
Thanks,
Rhie

Hi guys,
I am required to design a steel pipe support of a chilled water pipe which is currently supported by concrete (like a pedestal) elevated around 500MM from the finish floor level. Is there any guidelines how to design a saddle steel support for the chilled water pipe.
I appreciate...
I am designing a checkered plate which is subjected to traffic. The plate is 8 mm thick and the span is 2m. In order to withstand the design load, i try to provide a stiffener but unfortunately it fails due limited depth of stiffener of 25mm. I try also to make the distances of the stiffener as...
Any suggestion where to put pipe support for a different services running inside tunnel. Sorry for the ignorance, its my first time to design pipe support.
Thanks in advance.
Hi guys, I need to prepare pipe penetration (vertical and horizontal) details on structural members (beams, slabs, walls and staircase). Any reference that you can suggest? Is there any standard details that can be follow? E.g., for beams, penetration is allowed at some distance from the...
I already finished designing a pile foundation in which the flooring is considered as slab on grade. after driving all the piles in the ground, there was a change in the structural system, instead of using slab on grade we dicided to design it as structural slab because of settlement problem...
Hi guys..
I am presently designing a two storey with basement sub-station made of reinforced concrete frames. i have a problem in the edge columns in the upper floor because columns are only provided in the perimeter and support a 20m beam. the beam size is limited to 500x1200mm. Based on my...
I am conducting a study about structural framing materials and I am focus on reinforced concrete (RC) and Structural steel (Wide Flange Section). My idea is to consider a frame model and design it as reinforced concrete and steel then compare the results.
I have a problem in generating my...
I have a question guys. Is there any combination of f'c and Fy that would give the most economical section and reinforcement for reinforced concrete beams and columns? If not, How to design the most economical beams and columns for multi-storey buildings? What are the factors to be consider?
