    failing compaction efforts in silty/sandy material

    Hi all. Newbie here and first post ever. Working in Southern Cal and getting my ass kicked trying to achieve 95% compaction on some very silty/sandy material in trench backfill. County inspection is using a caltrans wet density test with a nuke gauge and not getting results until following day...
