When steam under pressure discharges from a vent pipe it creates a noise.
Is anyone aware of a way of calculating the likely noise level given the diameter of the pipe and pressure of dicharge?

I wish to take the output from tape recorder earphone socket and feed the signal into the input of PA amplifier.
The PA input is 600 ohm balanced.
Welcome ideas -- direction how to go about matching the impedances and attenuating the signal.

Dear all,
I would like to understand the physics of why sound pressure doubles at a surface and how the thickness of the this boundary can be calculated.

Dear all,
Many of you will know that the leap from paper to project is rarely straightforward.
Sometimes circuits are published which neglect to mention that they have not been tested in the real world or that the circuits provided are for indicative purposes only.
You are not alone if you...
Dear all,
Your observations and comments are invited.
CONTEXT
A magnetic reed switch is used to control a fractional hp motor which drives a domestic shower pump.
The reed switch is the electrical part of the flow switch.
When the shower valve is opened the water begins to flow. The water...
