I'm expiriencing some problems when submitting job in Abaqus 6.8-1. The job is submitted but wont start running. Anybody else had this problem? Never happend in 6.6-1 or 6.7-1.

is it possible to deleta a parent feature whitout deleting its children features in part module. I have a lot of features in my model, and if I change or delete one of the, the rest fails to regenerate. Does anybody know a way to avoid this?

I have made a part from shell and solid elements and when I run the job I recieve this error:
"Error in job PPA_0_0: 169 elements have missing property definitions. The elements have been identified in element set ErrElemMissingSection".
Probably some of the regions are not assigned...

I've imported an IGES file from ANSA to ABAQUS/CAE. The result is an invalid part. I've tried to repair it with geometry repair tools, but it dosn't work. Do anybody know which is the best file to import (for parts) and how I can make the part precise and valid?

is it wrong to use 8-node elements in buckling/postbuckling analysis? Riks' analysis are giving me some strange results when I use 8-node elements. I've used 420 as yield stress, but von Mises stress exeeds this.

Hey, does anybody know how to define dead loads in a riks step? I\ve tried to use two steps, general static, where I input my dead loads, and then static riks, where I input the referance load. The analysis can't complete becouse of an error, "To many increments needed to complete the step".

Hey, I'am running Riks analysis. When I plot the load proportionality factor (LPF) in Abaqus the x-axis is "Arc Lenght". What does this actually mean? Does anybody know how I can plot LPF on y-axis and displacement on x-axis?
