If an air tank is filled with 150 psi air. If I want the release the air at a certain rate, say, 20 ml/sec. Is that determined by the size of the orifice? So by varying the size of the orifice with a valve, I can control the air release rate right? If so, can someone tell me the math formula for...
For an application, an air tank the size of 1 L or so is needed. It need to hold air up to 150 psi. Are there any manufacturers that make tanks like this? I don't want it to be unnecessarily expensive. For example, I don't need a tank to be rated 3000 psi.
Cost is very important and it may be...
What is the manufacturing cost for a 0.75L air tank rated at 150 psi and 3000 psi respectively? (If 5000 of each is to be produced)?
Will the 3000 psi tank be a lot more expensive?
An approximate ball park guess would be preferred. Thanks
For an application, a very small air compressor is needed. The compressor need to supply 80 to 100 psi of air at a flow rate of only 0.1 scfm. The correspond to about 1/10 horsepower.
Lightweight and compactness is important. Are there air compressors on the market with that small of an output...
In an application I'm designing, air is vented from a portable air tank. In order to decrease the frequency of refills, it is desired to carry as much air in the tank as possible. This means the tank pressure will be around 80 to 100 psi above atmosphere.
But the application only requires a...
Does anyone know what parameter of a vortex tube determine its output air flow rate? In an application I'm designing, vortex tube is the best candidate but it's an area I have no expertise in.
Can anyone recommand to me an engineer that specializes in this area? Thanks
Hello. In one application I'm designing, a vortex tube with a very small air flow rate is required. (Flow rate around 25 cm^3/sec)
Commercial vortex tube have flow rate much higher than this. I'm trying to build a prototype and would like to make my own vortex tube.
Can anyone give me some...
In piston powered air compressors, oil is use for lubrication which contaminate the compressed air somewhat. In the application I'm designing, it is desirable to remove the traces of oil so the compressed air is clean. The pressure of the air will be around 100 PSI
What are the different...
