This is probably a simple hydraulics 101 problem but my 75 year old brain is totally blank on how to estimate the flow velocity of water given only the average slope of a river bed and average water depth.
Any suggestions using calculations with simple algebra formulas?

Usually, when using metrics, I convert to feet, gallons, etc to be comfortable because this “SI” is almost baffling if it were not for a couple of conversion tables found on the Internet...
If one cubic foot of river water at 62.4 lbs. is moving 5 ft per second at the surface of a river is moving 312 lbs per second, is one cubic foot of river water between 9 & 10 feet below the surface moving 3120 lbs. per second???
