Have a customer who needs to replace some their pumps and the pumps are so old, there's no data available. The pumps have not been in operation in 15 - 2o years now.

I have a vacuum pump system in a plastic extrusion application in which my customer would like the piping(1/2", 1" and 2") to be 316SS. However, all other components in the circuit are carbon steel and brass. I didn't think that this could be done?

I'm looking for comments (good or bad) relating to powering a liquid ring vacuum pump with a diesle engine using v-belts. Is the choice of v-belts a wise decision or is here a more practical way?
