    Volumetric Flow Rate

I was trying to calculate emissions and the old emission calculation uses 387 scf/lbmol for off-gas to a boiler? How do I ensure that it is 387 scf/lbmol because all I found was conversions of 359 scf/lbmol or 379 scf/lbmol at STP. Where did they get 387 scf/lbmol from?

I was trying to determine density o

I was trying to determine density of the following chemicals: 1) Natural gas 2) Diesal 3) Propane Also, what type of firing (front, tangential, opposed) for most space heaters, boilers, hot water heaters?

Air Leak or Steam Leak Survey

Anybody know of any companies that conduct air leak or steam leak surveys? Do you think it is beneficial to have an air leak or steam leak survey done? What has been your experience with air leak and steam leak surveys(price for survey $, price for repairs $, payback time #months or #years...

    Cooling Tower

I was trying to investigate the details on installing a hyperbolic cooling tower. After some research, I noticed that in order to have a hyperbolic, there is a lot of cooling water required (500,000gpm). I was wondering if anybody knew the recommended min. requirement for cooling water for a...

    Vent Ratio for Deaerator

I was trying to determine the vent ratio for a deaerator vent ratio=(vent from deaerator/ (total steam to deaerator-vent from deaerator))....Since there isn't a indicator on the amt. of steam entering the deaerator, I am doing an energy Balance....which is steam required= ((Qm * (T1-T2))/Hfg)...

    CO2 emission factor

Quick question, whats the density of CO2 in lb/ft3? I was trying to calculate a CO2 emission factor (lb/mmBTU) ...I have the amount of gas in scfm....and also the BTU/unit to give me the energy consumed in MM BTU..... For example: I have 1E6(cf) of a gas thats composition is %H2 is 86.13 %CH4...

    Controls

If something is an I/E Converter what is that? P/E convertor? P/I Converter? V/I Converter? Also when it says that a motor is 230/460V, does that mean it can run either on 230 or 460V? I was looking at different transmitter types and I saw DP, Vortex, whats the difference?

    Pumps

I was looking at a motor spec sheet and noticed Phase 3 as one of the specs? What is phase? Also, I noticed that for the voltage they had 230/460V? Why is there two? Also, when it says 60 Hz, what does that mean (cycle)?

    Turbines

I was looking a spec. sheet for a turbine and noticed: W.R. 73 lb/hp/hr What is W.R.? Work required.... Also when I was looking at the spec sheet it said 150hp @3280/1750 rpm........What is the 3280? The 1750 is rpm right? Thanks

    Calculation of Steam Loss

I was wondering what was the equation or how to calculate for steam loss through a leak in a pipe? For ex. A pipe that is 50ft in length, hole size is .25in, steam at 240psig?
