I previously posted a request for some input on putting expiration dates on spreadsheets and got some great input that allowed me to get that set up.
A couple of follow up questions:
1) I have the code password protected in VBA, but is there a way to prevent users from simply clicking...

I have some spreadsheets I have created and want to protect. I have several people who want to use them under a licensing agreement. I would like to add an expiration date to the spreadsheets so that after a certain date, the spreadsheet no longer functions. Is there an easy way to...

Is there any technical justification to go with an 8 Leg vs a 4 Leg rig support/production platform if the topsides are the same? This would be in 250' of water.

Guys:
We have several pipelines varying in length and diameter, up to 35kms in length and dia of 10" - 24" that are going to be hydrotested and left full of water until commissioning - they may lay in "storage" for a year+.
Nitrogen is not an option, and de-watering, drying and leaving it...
Can anyone give me insight as to how to set up a spreadsheet with a termination date, or in other words a date after which the spreadsheet calculations will cease to function?

Under AWS D1.1, what are the issues with accepting WPS's that were done by your contractor for another company? This is assuming that all essential variables are the same.
Would you recommend it? And if so, why? Or why not?

I'm working on a pipeline project that involves a CP monitoring system that will contain software to process data collected from the corrosion monitoring equipment.
Anyone have recommendations for software that can store baseline data and drawings related to monitoring points, inspection...
I would like to get some feed back from the forum on the material recommended for pipeline sizing plates. It seems the 2 schools of thought are: 1) mild carbon steel or 2) aluminum. The norm is to size the plate at 95% of ID.
I am a proponent of mild carbon steel for the following 2 basic...
I have a question regarding WPS/PQR's developed by one contractor under API 1104. Can the client provide the PQR's to another contractor working for them (a separate contract and project) without any permissions from the contractor who developed them?
Obviously the contractor that developed...
We are fabricating offshore jackets to AWS D1.1 and are having quality issues with welding (this is in a W. Africa fab shop). Due to a high repair rate, we are going to ask for some welders to be re-qualified. Question, if a welder fails his re-qualification, does that call in to question the...
This question was asked in a previous thread, but the author never followed up with enough information to close it. I have encountered the same issue on a project.
There are 2 subprojects within the project, 1 is structural fabrication to AWS D1.1 and the 2nd are pipelines to both ASME B31.4...
Heh Guys
A question, I'm working on a project where we are installing anodes on subsea (shallow water - 6 meters) jackets. The anodes are welded on.
Apart from NDT of the welds, are there any functional checks that need to be made on the anodes after attaching them to the legs and before...
