The new steel code has 115 pages of tables for axial capacity of composite concrete filled tubes, HSS, pipe columns, etc. From what I can see in the tables, there doesn't seem to be a whole lot of axial advantage to doing this. Does anybody use these, or is my steel code just 115 pages thicker...
