Per SP001, you can use Leak Testing Method as a form of inspection in certain cases. They don't go into very much detail on the specifics of the different methods:
Gas Pressure Decay (includes vacuum decay)
Gas pressure soap bubble testing
Gas tracers (e.g., helium tracer)
Soil tracers...
My company has primarily used API 653 to use as a guide by which its tanks were inspected to.
It appears SP001 is gaining favor and has some advantages for tanks meeting certain criteria. Among the more attractive advantages are (possibly) longer intervals between inspections and in some cases...
I need to be able to datalog the pressure in the top of a 6500 gal 37% HCL tank to see what the pressure does as the tank is being loaded by a tanker truck.
We used some labview items back in college, but that has been years ago.
The pressure transducer needs to be capable of corrosive fumes...

I've been going round and round with trying to figure this out.
Product: 37% HCL
Tank: 6500 gal HDPE tank
There is an venting "study" where an engineering company studied the potential internal pressures and ACFM while loading HCL from a tanker truck into the storage tank. You can find this...
Can you install a TXV on a set of new coils like the all aluminum coils you can get with a Goodman unit? The best I can tell.... they only come with a "check flowrater" which upon googling that.... It is just a fixed orfice. I really want the TXV but would like to consider a goodman split...
I had pretty much decided to get American Standard 5 ton with gas heat to replace my current 10 SEER RUUD. Everybody around here (I live in central MS) said don't waste your money on the 90% or 95% furnace.... cause you won't see your payback until the product is already at the end-of-life.
My...
Sorry for the long post..... but I'm in a delima......
I have a 5 ton RUUD split system installed in my house. It is a 10 SEER with a scroll type compressor. I think my compressor is bad and that it has probably contaminated the rest of my system with acid from the burn out. Date on the unit is...
5 ton 230 v single phase R22 residential A/C compressor
Copeland Scroll type compressor
RUUD system - circa 3/99
with compressor leads unhooked measuring with a Fluke 87 digital VOM.
First is a measurement lead to lead.

Looking at a new UT Thickness meter. I see some advertised as having the capability to go thru the paint. We have mostly done our inspections by wire wheel buffing the paint off down to bare metal and taking our readings from there. The ability to not have to buff off the paint (and re-apply...
Doing some API 653 tank inspections and our company needs to purchase 1 or 2 new meters. The ones we have are old and in need or converting to bacup duty.
We need one that is small.
We need one that can have different transducers put on it. We currently use a long transducer when we do...
My vessel has a nozzle coming out the bottom head right in the middle..... it is supposed to be just a short section of 3" pipe... then a 90 deg elbow...then out thorough the support skirt.. and finally a SORF flange.
How do you do this in Compress?
Hey group,
I searched and didn't come up with anything. What are the most popular software choices for API 650 design software?
We currently use Compress for our ASME tanks... but now are starting to build a few API 650 tanks... would like to have a software that will function similarly to...
