We are designing a waste water disposal system. High Cl (32,000ppm), High TDS and operating temperature (100 degree C). What exchanger materials would you suggest? Waste water is on the tubeside.
What tank internal coating material would you recommend if tank operating temperature is higher than 100 C. This is waste water tank with high chloride content.
Thanks.
The PWHT temperature specified for carbon steels ranges from 1100 F to 1200 F per ASME VIII. Some users have reported it necessary to use the 1175 F or higher PWHT temperature when the steel contains intentional additions of microalloying elements, such as Nb and V, in order to achieve HAZ...
Who can give me any ideas about reheat cracking and knifeline cracking of stabilized stainless steels such as 347 and 316Ti? These two crackings are same thing or different?
316 or 316L can not work well when temp. is higher than 500 C because low carbon impacts its strength. My question is that in high temperature service, how does carbon affect the phyical properties of stainless steel metallurgically?
Could anybody here tell me what is Stabilizing heat treatment and what is Heat Annealing heat treatment for stainless steel. What are the differences between them?
Thanks
I am a new ASME user and doing a WPS review.I am still not very clear about the relation between WPS and its supporting PQR. For example, in the WPS the min. preheat temperature is 50F and in its PQR the min. preheat temperature is 70F. Could this WPS be supported by this
PQR? Another example...
My question is that the processes used in WPS are GMAW/SMAW and the processes used in supporting PQR are GMAW/FCAW. is this permitted? Should the welding processes in WPS and PQR be same?
