Hi
I have two DIN specifications with matching Wk numbers, and I am trying to find the source DIN/ISO standard. An extensive search by two of us has so far not found anything. They are
11 NiMoV 5 3, Wk 1.6341
GS14NiCrMo 106, Wk 1.6779
Thanks
Apologies in advance if this is the wrong forum for this question, but I can't find a better one. I previously posted in another forum and was sent here to re-post the question.

I am looking for a copy of BNIF 359-01, and I am happy to pay for it if necessary. It is a French document relating to surface finish of steel castings. I have tried Google with no real success...
I need to develop procedures for welding ASTM A494 CW12MW, the cast version of Hastelloy C276. I hope eventually to have procedures and qualifications in SMAW and GTAW, with and without PWHT. We will be welding our own castings.
Would you recommend welding with matching consumables or would...
Can anyone recommend a Cr-plater in the UK who could plate a 48" diameter disc weighing approx 1100kg? Base material is ASTM A494 CW6MC (cast Inconel 625).
EN10213:2003 requires impact testing for a number of material grades. Section 7.2.2.1 says that "mechanical properties shall conform to the values given in Table 4 for ferritic & martensitic grades".
Referring to Table 4, (alloy number 1.7379, equivalent to ASTM A217 WC9), it just says "Impact...
We have been asked to conform to Code Case 1935 for a particular order. When trying to get hold of a copy, we have been asked "Do you want 1935-3 or 1935-4?"
Can somebody tell me if they are different revisions of the same document, or are they completely different documents?
Thanks
I don't know if this is the most appropriate forum to post this question, but it's the best one to start with.
Our weld procedures are qualified by a 3rd Party (Lloyds Register), who countersign the PQR and WPQ documents. Our client is asking if we could submit countersigned WPSs to go with...
To all concerned:
I have just seen that the Norsok website has announced a draft revision of standard M-650 Rev 4. This standard contains the rules for "Qualification of manufacturers of special materials". It can be downloaded here...
ASTM G48 method A suggests that 72hrs is a reasonable test period. All the specs that we have previously worked to have a test period of only 24hrs (Norsok, Shell, ExxonMobil etc)
Does anyone know of a spec that insists on a 72hr test period? We have a client who has an ongoing internal debate...
We have been asked to supply some castings in ASME SA351 CN7M (cast Alloy 20), with the following additional requirement:
"Intergranular corrosion test in accordance with ASTM G28A or equivalent"
We have supplied plenty of castings in this material over the years, but never before with a...
We have an enquiry for ASTM A995 J92205 cast 22%Cr duplex stainless. The client is requesting corrosion testing to ASTM G48 method A at 40C.
I have gone through our database and confirmed that we have never tested this material above 30C. The only exception to this are 2 occasions when the test...
Appendix section X1.5 of this spec gives a formula for calculating the composition ration CR from the ferrite content F
CR = 0.9 + (3.38883x10^-2 F)-(5.58175x10^-4 F^2)+(4.22861x10^-6 F^3)
Has anybody got a version where F is the unknown?
Thanks
I have been asked to get hold of a copy of Code Case 2244-2.
The ASME website does not seem to have it for sale, and having done a reasonably extensive google-search, I can't find anywhere to download it from.
I am happy to pay for a copy if somebody can point me in the right direction...
I recently received this question from an end user/client. I am not able to answer his questtion. Can anyone out there please help.
Thanks.
Recently, we were asked to look at using ASTM A352 LCC in lieu of Grade LCB for some valve bodies in the expectation of being able to take advantage of...
I have identical G48 Method A tests carried out by two different test labs. Test criteria were 24hr duration at 50C, no pitting allowed, and a maximum weight loss of 4g/sq.m. Test pieces were pickled and passivated before testing. The material in question is a nickel based casting alloy, in the...
For those of you that work with Norsok standards, particularly M630 and the associated material data sheets, Norsok have issued a draft Rev 5 of M630, containing draft revisions of all the MDSs.
They are inviting comments to be made by 11 September.
You can find the details here...
Has anyone got an accurate figure for the density of A494 CW2M (cast Hastelloy C4)?
I can only find reference to the wrought version, with numbers ranging from 8.64g/cc to 8.94g/cc.
Thanks
I have a cylinder in UNS S31803, approx 33.5" O/D, 25" I/D, 18" long, weighing about 840kg. There is a requirement to have it passivated in accordance with ASTM A380 section A2.
Can anybody suggest a UK supplier who might be able to do the work?
Thanks.
