    what is "the skin is pocketed above lap joint"?

    In boeing 737cl srm 53-00-01 allowable damage1, notes Y, it says "if the skin is pocketed above the lap joint,......" I don't sure the meaning of "pocket",and what is the "pocketed skin" above the lap joint? what is "the skin is not pocketed above the lap joint?
