Hi, i am analyzing a gear using FEA methods to assess the strength capability of various regions except for tooth bending which is analyzed using AGMA standards. My question: If the the FEA shows high stresses below the gear tooth does this area need to be assessed considering the rim thickness...
Hi,
In regards to the product forms, what is a bar? when looking at some fatigue curves in MMPDS, its states Bar 2 x 6 in. Seems to imply its similar to a plate? or should it be a rod...ie. diam. x length?
thanks
Hello,
When I perform a non-linear material analysis in workbench, only the equivalent plastic strain can be plotted. How can I see the max. principal plastic strain? Can equivalent plastic strain be compared to ultimate rupture strain?

Hello,
I have two questions:
I have a bolt made out of CRES material (type 302), can anyone direct me to where I can find fatigue data for such a bolt material. MMPDS does not have and the aerospace materials handbook isnt much help.
thanks in advance

Hello,
My questions:
1) i have read agma 2OO1 c95 and find the geometry factors somewhat confusing. Difficult to analyze without a computer program or well defined gear tooth profile. Would it be safe to assume that the previous standard agma 218 would still be acceptable? why did they...
