What are the standard procedures used by others for hydrotesting new valves? For instance, if we were switching from a carbon steel to a stainless steel valve, we typically wouldn't hydrotest the valve and just put it in service. Strip Lining
We have a PWHT Div II vessel in sour service made from SA516 Gr.70 (the particular steel is microalloyed). We are planning to stripline the vessel with 316L after it has been in service for 10 years. Do we have to preheat to 200F for the striplining?- flames
