This question is for those of you that operate in a AS9001 Quality envirnonment or similar. I have a situation where I need to respond as to how to "prevent future occurences".
The situation simply is that we designed a new system. During the assembly of the first system by Production personel...
We are currently using a program called HarnWare (tyco)to create drawings of cables for use by production or outside vendors. Anyone have any other recommendations or pitfalls they've experienced.
Thanks
Having a little trouble rolling back files to old revisions. Not sure why. I have done it in the past but the option is now grayed out.
I have run the Vault Admin tool and confirmed that the Administrator has the right to do a rollback.
Any help is appreciated.
Can anyone point me in the direction of a S/N curve for an 18-8 stainless? 303, 304 would be great. I looked in MIL-HDBK-5J and was unsuccessful.
Thanks
P.S. referring me to text I have to purchase may not fit in my time line. A web link would be just dandy..thanks again.
Can anyone point me to the proper specification covering cable assembly drawings? I am having our CM group obtain the following specifications are there others I need? Again I'm looking for the proper standards to cover the drawings such as ASME Y14.5 covers Mechanical drawings.
I'm requesting...
Can anybody supply a good link for data on threaded inserts? I'm looking for data like pull out strength, details on how they are retained etc. I can't seem to find this on the typical web sites. All I see is hole drill size, tools to use etc.
thanks
We have a design whereby a bent peice of sheet meatal (5052-H32) will be welded to some structural angle(6061).
I don't see where there should be any problem with this. Can anyone confirm this or show me the error of my ways.
Application will be for mounting hardware for securing electronics...
Can anyone refer me to the proper Mil-Spec on the following:
What is the critera for how much a human can lift (ie) one person lift versus two person lift and so on. We looked at MIL-HDBK-759 "Human Engineering Design Guidelines" but had no luck.
Thanks
Heres the issue. If you have the requirement listed in the subject above, what data or direction is available to meet this criteria?
I also have the requirement of 516.5 Procedure V - Crash impact.
My thoughts are that Procedure V is a much worse case in terms of designing hardware to meet the...
This may be better put in the "Military" category not sure.

Sorry but amplification factor may not be the correct term but bear with me....
I have the following:
1. A hollow aluminum tube with a mass on the end. I can calculate the anticipated natural frequency with a hand calculation.
2. I have a PSD curve out of MIL-STD-810 that the structure will...
Reviewing MIL-STD-810F, I'm trying to resolve the following.
I have a specification that indicates we need to satify:
"MIL-STD-810F, Method 5.1.4.5 Procedure 1 Category 24 (minimum integrity)
Thats all well and good but I can't find where its described how long the test has to be run in each...
O.K. heres the dilemma. I'm trying to convince a bunch of knuckle heads that our tolerances aren’t "too tight". The situation is such that we are dealing with a bunch of fabricators that don't have outstanding quality and our internal model shop has only been at this location a year. To further...
Is there a specification that covers electrical engineering drawings? We use ANSI Y14 for our mechanical stuff. The reason I ask the question is that our electrical guys are making cable drawings and they are showing a view of the connector at each and of the cable and labeling each view as...
O.K. heres the question. Whats the difference between Management and Leadership? Not a trick question and I'm not looking for the Webster’s definition but something more practical and tangible.
The reason I ask is because my company has chosen to change its organizational structure. The old...
Couple of questions.
We just received our SW2007 and I'm in no hurry to update and have a new set of problems to contend with.
1. We are running alienwares that can take advantage of the SW2007 64bit version. Is anyone running this and have they noticed any performance increases over the old...
I recently got a FloWorks demo and quote. We are considering adding it to our software suite to aid in our up front engineering for cooling electronic cases. Any input good or bad from folks that are using the software would be appreciated. A few other comments, I'm not an analylist but the go...

Please provide the titles of your best reference text on the subject of cooling electronics. I'm going to try and spend a little over head money and I think I can convince upper management to spend a few hundred bucks on some ASME ref. material or similar. Our main area of focus is taking...
