I'm looking to see (before I jump on in) if there is a way to have a macro in EXCEL save a file, print the file, and then close the file. Is this something that can be done through a macro?
TIA!

I know that there is probably no easy way to do this, but I'm looking for one!
I need to take an assembly (about 180 different components and sub assemblies) from a company we bought a product from and rename all of the files with our part numbering system. Is there an easy way to do this?

I'm trying to see if anyone can interpret what a note I have on a vendor drawing actually means.
"BREAK ALL SHARP (90% OR SMALLER) EDGES OF ALL SHEET METAL."
I've never seen the note stated that way before. Any idea what it is requesting?

I have a small plate that is currently being welded onto a sheet metal part to act as a recessed face for a control panel to sit so it is flush with the sheet metal part. The part is called out to use a spot weld on the drawing, but a tack weld could be used as well and it would not effect...
So I am not very familiar with PTFE tubing, but I have an application that requires the use of PTFE tubing and since it is not very flexible, I was wondering if anyone could recommend a way to possibly form it using heat (bath vs heat gun) and what to possibly look out for (besides Teflon Flu)...
I have a flat sheet metal part with 2 different size hole patterns. One is a .75 hole in a 9x6 array with a large tolerance, the other is a .177 fastener hole in a 3x5 array with a tight tolerance. Some of these holes are in the same ordinate plain and I am having difficulty figuring out how I...
I recently printed a drawing to a PDF using draftsight and after it finished my command window was completely blacked out. Has anyone else run into this? Anyone have any ideas to fix it? I can still type my commands so I know it is working, but the text is black.

My company has been sending out tubes for electropolishing when we can't handle the size for buffing them ourselves. I have been tasked with finding an "inexpensive way to do the buffing in house" but I am worried about the safety of our buffing wheel operator. I had the idea of a lazy susan on...
I am looking for information on this company & machine, and all I have been able to find is that they went out of business back in 2005 and that there are a bunch of these for resale.
Has anyone ever worked with one of these before?

I am looking to reduce the number of Engineering Change Orders that we currently do. The way it works right now is that if there is any change to the print, then we need to ECO the print, even if it does not have anything to do with the form, fit, or function of the part.
What I am trying to...
We updated to SW 2007 sp5 over the weekend and none of our macros are working any more. When I go to debug, it yellows out the Sub main () in the first code line. Does anyone have any ideas of what would be causing this or how I could fix it?
Here's the one I tried to run this morning...
We use 2 seperate departments for Drafting/Detailing and Engineering. The drafting/detailing department does not have permissions to do anything more than view the models, but need to create exploded views of the assembly models to show assembly order because the engineering department has made...
I am trying to detail a drawing for a vaccuum formed part. For some reason some of the holes and shelled features just vanish when I rebuild or print. I can get them back by changing the view to a wireframe, and then back again. As soon as I try to print they vanish.
Any suggestions?

I am having a hard time figuring out how to turn a layer on/off in a drawing using a macro.
I wrote a macro that is being used as a temporary fix. It will print the drawing, make a pdf, make a dxf, and then close it until we have our drawings vaulted into our PLM system at which point it will...
I'm currently running SW 2007 sp2.2 and am having some issues when I insert a block into a drawing.
When I insert "Block A", it turns into a different block. When I look at the tree, it shows the "Block A" that I am trying to insert and also "Block 1". The "Block 1" is the actual block that I...
I think that this has something to do with overdefinition, but I can't find a setting to turn it off so that they are automatically driven or that they show up black. any thoughts?

We have been running Task Scheduler for the last couple of years here to create dxfs and pdfs of all of our legacy data. We are now having trouble getting the Task Scheduler to work now that we have upgraded to 2007. Is anyone else having problems with it?

I have been trying to figure out a way to have the square inches of a part to be calculated for a sheet metal part and have it added to a BOM in a "QTY" field. Is there any way to have it calculated as opposed to me overwriting the information and destroying the link between the part and the...
I have been tasked with writing a "Drafting Standards Manual" for the Drafting department where I work. We do not use any real standard of drafting to dimension or tolerance. I was wondering if anyone had any advice or an example that they could help me out with.
Thanks!
