Hi all. Can you please confirm what is approximately the noise level contribution in a pwoer transformer: i.e. what percentage is due to the tank, how much is due to the fans and how much due to the pumps in a FOA system.

Can somebody explain what would be the effect of changing the H-Y (high to tertiary) impedance in a 120/160/200 MVA, 260-144/25 kV, three phase autotransformer, from 12% (required) to 26% (per design). The H-X impedance is 5%.

Is it possible to analyze a transient using the FFT (which is the case with the inrush current when energizing a power transformer)? Or is this technique applicable only to waves with armonic distortion? in other words, we are assuming that the inrush current is a transient and does not generate...
Can somebody tell me why a +/- 7 1/2 % on-load tap changer should be prefered versus a +/- 10% one? For some reason the last one seems more reasonable. It is required in the LV side of a 230 -115 kV Autotransformer.

Can comebody suggest a good photodetector that will provide a signal when mettering at a 1 to 2 cm distance from a wet surface? The idea is to measure 1 for the existence of calf skin, and zero when there is no skin. ( I am designing a skin meter).

Can somebody tell me if it is feasible in a bank of three, to replace 2 x 65 MVA, one phase, 400 kV units with 1550 kV winding BIL, and keep a third one that is 1425 kV BIL rated? It looks weird that the bank should be split in 2 transformers with 1425 BIL and 1 with 1550 kV wqinding BIL.
