Hello!
I use constraint equations (CEs) for preloading internal nonlinear parts in my model - basically sets of rolling bearings. The problem is that the immediate introduction of the CEs provides very sharp loading effect and causes convergency difficulties.
I can explain the problem on a...
Hey Ansys folks, hopefully you can help me:
I run structural and thermal analyses in an automatic loop consisting of many (thousands) steps (solutions). After each solution I basically need only several result (DOF vaues), which I save into result arrays and run the solution again with modified...
Hi all,
I try to "override" a negative pivot. I am running a static linear analysis with a model containing a superelement. The stiffness matrix inside the SE is created outside Ansys and results from different calculations.
The matrix in SE is not positive definite, but the whole model...
It seems to me that this command does not work properly. It is documented and should create SURF151/152 elements and connect them to closest nodes of FLUID161. It doesn't recognize the first argument - nodal component.
Has anybody met this problem? Thx, Tom
Hello forum, I am new here,
I would like to ask if anyone of you has experience vith vibrational stress relief after welding. Frankly I have not heard about it yet and when I see http://www.dreyfusglobal.com/sre.htm it seems very interesting to me. Is it comparable to traditional methods...
Hello bearing folks,
I am trying to measure axial preloading forces between angular contact ball bearings. It is on a simple two-bearing back-to-back spindle with rigid spacers, <=> . My aim is to measure preloading forces during rotation when everything warms up and the preload is expected to...
Hello,
I'm trying to find a way, how to build FE models of thick welded plates as accurately as possible. The plates should be represented by shells, because usually we need to simulate large structures and solid modelling of details is simply impossible.
Commonly we have a line of nodes...
I have read properly older threads concerning bearing temperature and changes in clearance, fits, preload, etc. It seems to me that one thing was not mentioned yet and this is the rolling element (RE) temperature.
Tmoose in thread821-120829 mentions typical ring temps during steady state...
With a help of T. Harris's book I'm trying to develop a thermo-mechanical model of HS-spindle brg assembly.
One of most important outputs are stiffneses of bearings, useful in further dynamical analyses.
My question concerns the radial stiffness. According to type of preload the brg boundary...
