I have read all the past threads about mirror/symmetry. I have also read the documentation but I am still missing one key point, i guess. I am trying to make the opposite of an existing assy (has a sub assy including parts that don't require to be mirrored) which is going to have a new part...
Has anybody added fiberglass material spec in INV 11 or is there any web portal where I can download it. Iknow mCAD forums used to have a link to a site where there were alot of material spec present, mostly metal though.
I am looking for a digitzier that can input the data from classic Mylars into CAD type file. Are there any people stuck with 1 to 1 huge prints of J & K size and using caliper and old fashion methods or is it just me.
I usually get the loft data to re engineer a part. Sometimes it is so large, that it takes good chunk of the day just entering. Can you import such data thru excel into CATIA, or is there any better sugestion.
I have created an assembly, now I want to hide all the refernece planes before I convert it into CATpart. Is there an easy way, I know our instructor went thru this step in V4. But since I was new to both avenues thats why I am little disorientated.
I have two questions,
1. I m trying to generate a section view at a certain depth in CATDrawing. How to come about?
2. Can I also rotate the view irrespective of the main view from where its been generated, in other words can the link be broken from the main view to manipulate the position of...
I have a contoured flap which needs variable depths at various section. I have the main surface. I tried skecthing the milled surfaces at plane normal to this surface, projected it on that surface. Tried using split, but gave me an error.
Is there any easy way???
I brought a V4 part that had the FTA data into V5, using Product>Insert Existing>RMB on TOLP3> and swicthing the annotations ON. Now when I try to bring this in CATDrawing, I can't seem to get annotaion with the part. The license we have is for MD2+DL1+FT1 and my supplier might be luring me into...
Is there an easy way to insert my current "Title Block" in CATIA. Also could this be saved under Title/Frame creation so insertion is easy next time.
I saw the folder where sample title block resides (under "FrameTitleBlock"), it has a bitmap and a CAT script (i.e same name but different...
I am a frequent user of Inventor, maybe thats why I find CATIA assembly a little more tough to handle. I have curved surface(section of a wing) and it houses a machined part which also follows the mold line. What is the best possible constraint situation i should follow. I did try using...
I am new to CATIA and I am trying to assemble two thick surfaces. I brought in the (1) existing component & using symmetry, created the mirrored part. Now when i go to constraint it, it don't allow me to do so. What am I doing wrong here.
?? Should I create the symmetrical part outside the Assy...
I have to represent a milled part which is on contour. the milling follows a guided curve, which i have projected on the contoured surface. How should i come about to cut a certain profile (a rectangle) that follows the guided curve on the surface.
I have a situation where I have to come up with a part that fits within a boundary of an assy, (say i have the bucket, i need the water that fills in as a seperate part). I tried the mold creation tip, it didn't work out. Any suggestion wil be appreciated. em @ iahmed@gsedynamics.com. Thnx
