Self learning Inventor 2008 after 5.5 years on Solid Works
Question: How do you set up colors so that there is a big color difference between fully defined (constrained) and not fully defined elements in sketch ?
On my default set up the difference is hardly visible - not fully defined lines...
Inventor 2008 - What to do so the mass of a part "propagates" to next assy - to next assy etc - to part dwg - to assy dwg.
Have had 5.5 years on Solid Works (till very recently). Know $PRP etc. Now have to use Inventor - 3 day experience.
Thanks for all the answers.
In the company I work for they want to have number of parts needed for assy to be also specified on detail dwg.
For example on PIN.slddwg there should be a note saying: 2 required.
I know that QUANTITY appears automatically on the BOM of the assy dwg.
Is it possible to somehow "link" that...
Matt Lombards Bible is very good - I am just following the tutorials and exaples from the CD.
On page 290-291 there is a 3D Curve Driven Pattern (figure 8.15). The model is on the CD and I can not figure out how the "spiral" curve was created on the body. I presume the Surface-Sweep1 was...
On the Top Plane make a sketch 5" x 5", "center" it on the origin Point, then extrude it vertically (top of the table).
On the front plane of just created extrusion insert a sketch and on the bottom edge of the extrusion put two points, say 1" and 1.5" to the right from the Origin.
Create a...
Imagine you have a Horizontal Cylinder - Rod fully collapsed and a Roller 2" in front of the rod.
Now you extend the rod (Linear Motor) and when the Rod comes with contact with The Roller the Rod pushes the Roller.
I have done a search on this forum (I admit I am not very good at that) for "Horse Saddle", that is a Swept Surface where the Path (along horse's spine) is a Hyperbola and the Profile ("around" the horse) is a Parabola.
The problem is that as far as I know SW2007 does not have Hyperbola in the...
I tried to search the forum but no luck (I admit I am NOT very good at that).
I have a sketch on Front plane and another plane at an angle to Front plane.
I want to project the sketch from the Front plane to that "angled" plane but the "projection" to be perpandicular to the Front plane, NOT...
It's about file named c:\Program Files\Common Files\Solidworks Data\Lang\English\SWBrowser.mdbold
The file size is 49 Mb and the file is excessively fragmented - it has 441 fragments. WindowsXP defragmenter won't touch it.
Using Windows Explorer I just copied that file in the same directory -...
SW2006 SP 5.0
Using Windows Explorer make a folder named Scrap, than copy a Part.SLDPRT into that folder. Using Windows Explorer rename that file to Part1.SLDPRT
Now, fire up SW and open up Part1.SLDPRT. Make some changes and than save Part1.SLDPRT
Close Part1.SLDPRT but do NOT exit SW.
Now...
When I try to have in Part Properties My_value as Number and try to assign to it say Volume (which after all, IS a number) I get an error message: "Invalid value entered for type Number" - the only thing it would let me have is Volume as Text.
Am I trying to do something impossible ?
SW2006 SP5.0
.
I know this has been discussed here before, perhaps many times, but I have to vent my anger ...
Assy1 is 1,733 kb. Now, use assy1 and make (higher) assy2 - assy2 contains ONLY assy1 and nothing else - after FIRST save assy2 is 3,193 kb. If I do NOTHING and just re-save assy2 I get 6,407 kb...
SW2006 SP5.0
I am trying to have more columns visible when importing DT into the dwg but somehow no luck. When "Edit Table" and "streching" it to the right (to include more columns) no matter what I do, the DT "streches" but also changes "zoom", that is everything becomes larger result being...
SW2006 SP 5.0
Two configurations of the same part - one with hole and one without.
Now I am making "tabulated" drawing and one column will be: "Hole Exists" and the row below should have either YES or NO.
I have made "automatically populated" Design Table and it has column $STATE@Hole1 and...
I believe the Design Table in SW2006 has got messed up. Models created under SW2005 SP 5.0 and working perfectly do get messed up when opened in SW2006 SP5.0
Let say in (File) Properties you have Weight “defined” as Mass. Then you create Design Table (automatic) and the Table gets “populated”...
When using mm units on dwg I can not get dimension to appear 587.0 when the "real" dim is 587.0.
No problem to get 587.1 when real dim is 587.1 (mm).
I know it is possible to get dimension 587.0 on dwg but I do not know how to do it.
Thanks
