A single phase transformer is feeding a half-wave rctifier with a resistive load across it.
What is the real value of the power cosumed in the resistor load( dc + ripples ),is it to :
- Multiply transformer's secondary rms values of the voltage and current- assume 100% efficiency.
-Or to mutiply...
A 10 amp DC current is passing through 1 Ohm resistive load, so the power consumption by the resistor is 100 Watt.
Now, a sinusoidal ripple current of 1 amp peak is superimposed on the top of the DC current, then the average current is still 10 amp.
My question now : Is the resistor still...
I have the Motorola programming board MC68HC05PGMR-2 but without the software needed to operate it.
Any one can direct me to a website to download the software needed for that programmer ?
Please, could some one explain how the Wash Machine's AC Motor ( with capacitor on it )speed and direction controlled ?
During the wash cycle, the motor rotates back an forth at low speed, while at spin cycle rotates at very high speed.
My question is how during the wash cycle the motor's speed...
Anyone has an idea on:
For high current applications which choice is more reliable:
1- Single FET with high current rating.
2- Several FET's with lower current rating connected in parallel.
Thanks in advance
Last week, I have seen a heavy power transformer { with iron-silicon core ) , I noticed that between every one or two layers of the primary and secondary windings there is a small bar of fiberglass.
I asked the designer about the purpose of these bars separating the layers, he said "in my head"...
I have a small power trasformer with the following rating:
Primary : 110 V
Secondary : 24 V CT at 3 Amp ( 12V-CT-12V )
My question now :
If I connect the two secondary coils in parallel, does the secondary current rating become 6 Amp insead of 3 Amp ?
Thanks in advance
Hi guys,
I think DC motors' speed can be cotrolled by reducing the DC rating voltage- If this is right, does that will effect the motor's torgue available ?
And what about the AC motors, can the speed also controlled by reducing the applied AC voltage , by using variable variac for example...
Hi guys.
As we know, if a DC current applied into a coil, enery will be needed to build up the magnetic feild surrounding the coil, once that is done there will be no energy needed and no energy consumption (neglect the coil resistance )- I hope I am right.
Now in case of a relay coil operates...
SCR, once it turns on ,then we are forced to use cmmutating capacitors and dc reactors to turn it off.
I am wondering , why IGBT's are not used instead of SCR's and to get rid of the commutating components ?
Is there any advantage of using SCR's instead of IGBJT's for high current applications...
This is a mathematical question:
A pulse has a rise tim "t1" and the scope has a rise time "t2", so the total measured rise time will be:
The the square root of: The square of "t1" + The square of "t2".
Any mathematical drive available for that?
Thanks in advance
Hi all
I would like to design a 5KVA UPS with inverter(120 VDC/120VAC}
What is the best method to design such inverter with high reliability and efficiency ?
Is the Ferroresonant approach the best choice for such design? but as far as I know ,ferroresonant regulators show low efficiency at low...
Hi all
Is the PIC microcontroller reliable for tough industrial field and can be rely on to perform sensitive control tasks.
I not what other microcontroller you recommend ?
Thanks
Coil Inductance formula is given by :
L= u.N^2.A /l
1- What is u
is it the core initial permeability or the average
permeability,
If it is the average , why the core manufacturer
gives the core initial permeability in his data

2-This formula is true only if there is no...
Can a ferrite Core deal with a large power such as 20KVA
power transformer ?
If not, what is the maximum power rating can be acheived with using ferrite core?
