hi,
what is the European standard which covers the H2S service?
(NACE MR0175 equivalent!)
and what is the added thickness in H2S service (corrosion) for carbon and stainless steel piping ?
(according to EN ISO 15156 or an other Euro standard)
best regards.

hi,
weld factor z as regulated in EN 13480-3 clause 4.5 takes the value of:
1.0 for 100%NDT
0.85 for random NDT
0.7 when no NDT
what is the value of z when we have:
(100%ET + no random test) or ( no random + single butt)?
(in accordance with the EuroNorm)
regards,
hi,
how can we determine the maximum allowable pressure of a stainless steel pipe whitout using the thickness, according to EN 13480-3 standard?
i know that we can evaluate it by a process engineer, but I want to know if we can use the data from an other process which is not enivitably complying...
hi,
who have already applied the EN13480-3 to an oilfield pipework for the calculation of required thickness or max. allow. pressure?
thanks in advance
hi,
I have two wall thickness formula's for piping:
- The 1st one is according to the ASME B31.3 i.e.
t = f(working pressure P, external diameter D, design stress S, weld factor z); S,D,P and z are given.
-The 2nd one is according to the EN 13480-3 i.e.
t = f(allowable pressure Ps...

what are the design pressure requirements for piping components (given in clause 6 in the part 3 of the EN 13480 standard)?
how can we design the maximum allowable pressure?
is the allowable stress the design one?
hi,
thank you for your answer but I would know more details:
is the formula e = Pc*(D0/2)*f*z
or e = (Pc*D0)/2*f*z
I think it's the first one. isn't it?
please, can you explain me the meaning of each parameter? f and z?
thank you very much

hi,
I think that this document (CEN/TR 14549) is a guide to the use of ISO 156649 and ANSI/ASME B31.3 for piping in Europe in compliance with PED. does that mean that we can use, for example, the US standards (design, conception and manufacturing...) and always be in compliance with the...
what is the formula to calculate the thickness of a pipework according to ASME B31.3 but in compiliance with the Europian pressure equipment directive PED?
