I'm looking for a non-surge closing check valve for fuel service / petroleum industries.
NPS 6" flanged #150
May you please link a reliable supplier / manufacturer?
Thank you!
Hi all,
Head of a pressure vessel made of ASME B16.9 Cap,
NPS: 24" ; Nominal W.T: XS (12.7 mm) ; Material: SA-234 WPB
Design wall thickness calculated acc. to the requirements of ASME VIII-1 / UG-44 is: 10.75 mm
Actual wall thickness measured on cap: 12.4 mm at welding end ; 9.6 mm (min) at...
Hi all,
In order to design Opening and required reinforcement in Bolted Flat Cover, Figure UG-34 (j) or (k): finding the required cover thickness per UG-34 using Eq. (2) or Eq. (5), the thickness shall be calculated for both operating conditions and gasket seating, and the greater of the two...
Hi,
I'm dealing with a flange connection that exposed to piping system hydrostatic test pressure preformed exceeding the allowable by ASME B16.5 (2.6).
Flanges: Class 150 WN.RF. Material: SA-105N. Gasket: Spiral-wound metal, with nonmetallic filler (group Ib). Bolts & Nuts: SA-193 B7 / SA-194...
I'm not able to find this material's Max. Allowable Stress value at Section II Part D – Table 1A.
Is it possible that P235GH is not listed in Section II Part D even though it appears in VIII-1 / TABLE UCS-23 ?
Thanks in advance.
I'm trying to understand the intent of UG-37(a) requirement for tr:
"
tr = required thickness of a seamless shell based on the circumferential stress, or of a formed head, computed by the rules of this Division for the designated pressure, using E = 1, except that…

What E value shall be...
Is there an acceptable procedure enable use of clamp screws for quick-opening flange in ASME VIII-1 vessel?

For a vacuum tank with external half-pipe jacket:
Can I credit the moment of inertia that comes from external spiral half-pipe jacket instead of adding stiffening rings on a cylindrical shell section (for UG-29)?
UG-32(d) defines Acceptable Approximation for 2:1 ellips. head as one with knuckle radius of 0.17D and a spherical radius of 0.9D.
Kindly, my question is: may a head still be considered 2:1 ellipsoidal where knuckle rad. > 0.17D and/or spherical rad. < 0.9D ?
Can we have any answer for it from...
ASME B31.3 basically considers a branch as it welded on a run-PIPE.
ASME B31.3 and ASME B16.9 consider a fitting as a seamless pipe.
My question is: when a branch is welded on a B16.9 Fitting (elbow / reducer / tee / cap) – has this fitting been considered as "Unlisted component" acc. to...
For what stand-out length of nozzle does this requirement apply? For what outer length a nozzle is still been defined as a nozzle?
Does this length limited to the UG-37 Limit of Reinforcement (2.5t or 2.5 tn+te)?
How about threaded or Victaulic connections? Are these types permitted when...
Hi all,
I would appreciate whether someone may direct me how could I get access to the proper US federal authority in order to check out about academic technical institutes and whether they permitted to provide B.Sc. / M.Sc. grade.
I'm not US citizen, trying to dig some info for a friend that...
I'm looking for a good and reliable source (books, website, etc.) which I can learn from the foundations of flue gases flow + heat transfer in low-pressure fire-tube steam boiler.
I would greatly appreciate any help or guidance.
Acc. to UW-2 (b) Low Temp. Welds using metal backing strips which remain in place are not permitted. My question is, what is the reason for that?
Is that refer to MDMT colder than –55 ºF or –20 ºF ?
Hi all,
I'm looking for chemical resistance information for Perspex.
Working condition I have to inquire is for water and NaOH 5% at temperature up to 60 °C
Thank you very much on advance.
