Article A-2-2.4.3 of NFPA 72-1999 provides the criteria for placement of heat detectors in beam pockets. Other articles specify "smoke or heat" detectors.
Is it acceptable to use the referenced article to justify installation of smoke detectors in beam pockets?

The lighting fixtures adjucent to building edges are with glare guards and located not close than 14' from edges.
How to estimate glare on ground and other levels? I can obtain point to point illumination...
Per article 1.2.4 of EPA-1994 Code of Federal Regulations 40, published in "Codes update for battery rooms" by the "Power Quality" few years ago "dead ends aisles longer than 6 feet are not permitted".

Does anybody has experience with 2000 kw diesel generators by Kohler? How they may be compared with Caterpillar or Cummins units of the same size in reliability and service for mission critical facilities?
