I have a 2.5V DC output signal ( its range is 0.5V to 4.5V), it needs to be scaled from 25% of supply to 75% of supply voltage. The supply voltage is a variable.Due to constraints i cannot use microprocessors or other fancy signal processing parts, need to stick with basic parts like opamps ...
I am looking for a satisfatory answer to the question of which IEC standards apply to mechanical devices/systems in general ?? does IEC 60601-1 3rd edition apply to mechanical parts/devices?
IEC standards seem most applcable to devices which have any kind of electrical element but say you have...

I am new to compliance. We make two types of devices, one uses a stepper motor with chopper drive and operates on a 16V, 1500mA rechargeable battery. Its insulated from body. There is not wirelss. The other one is similar to a massage vibrator with wireless control, the vibratory is insulated...
Not sure if its a basic question to ask. If you have an analog sensor and the output drifts over time or output is non repeatable(input being constant). Also assume thats the best sensor you can get and you are relying on those values to set thresholds etc. Is there a way to take care of...
Hi, I had read that power supply rejection ratio(PSRR or PSR) follows open-loop gain curve(or CMRR curve) meaning it drops off with frequency. I saw that in many opam datasheets like OP1177 etc but when looking at LM386 data sheet(page 4, PSR Vs frequency curve) it shows reverse trend , meaning...
can anyone tell the basic difference between using an off the shelf transient suppressor chip ( such as Texas Instruments SN75240) and making ones own RC filter circuit.Apart from performance differences(cut off etc) are there other differences and which is better.
I have been using eagle for schematic capture and layout so far. I need to get a better one. Can anyone suggest which one to get. I need to do schematic capture ( hopefully able to simulate too) and pcb layout. I have tried multisim/ultiboard also in the past.
Is there one which is industry...
I am using hayden can stack motor z20000 series, with a r controller from Trinamic. The software provides different control options like setting max velocity, acceleration, ramp divisor , pulse divider , micro stepping etc.
Is there a resource somewhere on how to best optimize these parameters...
I was reading datasheet for an ADC chip(MCP3304) with SPI interface, it was mentioned in the starting
"these 13-bit A/D converters are specified to have ±1 LSB Differential Nonlinearity (DNL); ±1 LSB Integral Nonlinearity (INL) for B-grade and ±2 LSB for C-grade devices."
Does anyone know what...
I am making a circuit in which I need to control two separate valves with two servos (futaba S3154 mini servo).I am not sure if i should power them with two separate 6V regulators LM7806 (1 amp max output) or a single LM7806. I could not get data sheet on current drawn by these servo except...
Made a circuit board with dual opamp, and two voltage regulators. Has slots for microprocessor eval board to sit in. Before going further was testing the circuit( without putting the microprocessor board). Every time i connect the power there is arking at th contacts( for main power). I am not...
I have a PCB board and need to mount surface mount parts on it( i have experience in through hole parts but not surface mount parts, also don’t want to buy those thousand dollar machines(with oven) that let you do at home). I am looking for company/person that will take my PCB board and...
I have a strain gauge connected to a metallic rod hinged at one end. The system detects the bending of the beam(when I press it with my hand, as seen by increase in output voltage) but even before touching the rod, as I bring my hand close to the rod the output starts increasing (offsetting...

I am using a strain gauge signal conditioner(120 ohm gauge)with another 120 dummy resistor gauge and rest of the bridge internally balanced by the chip(Analog device 1B31). Ideally the output should be zero if no force is applied on the bridge(balanced bridge) but Every time I start the circuit...
I am looking for an excellent and practical book on filters. Would ideally prefer one book covering both analog and digital filters but if not then would get one for each. Till now my experience is limited to making analog filters.
I generally share the signal and power ground together for analog(and mixed circuits <1 KHz).Does this practice introduce noise in the system. The circuits many times does not work if I separate them, so I am forced to do it to make it work. Am I missing something about designing here.
