    C-spring design formulas

    I am trying to design a lock for artificial legs using a C spring. I am not able to find the design formulas. The spring has to deflect a certain distance and should apply a certain force. The choice of material can be anywhere from plastics to titanium. I am not sure where to start. Please Help.
