"k" dimensions for design v. detailing and 3D CAD

We use Solidworks--just started--and are running into the issue where we want to build our models accurately accounting for strength and weight (ie design dimensions in the weldment tool) but then when a coped beam or web doubler is put in to the "designed" W's and we start manufacturing our...

    Equation applied to a parabola/spline?

I've got a parabolic equation (x²=-40y) that I need to apply to a spline. Does anyone have any idea on how to do this without having to just specify multiple points ie (0,25; 1, 26) etc? Any tips would be greatly appreciated. Tony Murschel, CSWA Dual Xeon 5160 10GB RAM Nvidia Quadro FX 4500...

    Spacepilot issues in SW2008

I don't know if this pertains only to the Spacepilot or all of 3DConnexion's devices but in SW2008 SP0.0 x64 the standard view buttons (TLFR) do not work anymore. Component pattern of different components?

I'm just getting into civil design and have come across the fun of doing civil work in Solidworks. One thing I'm needing help/tips on is rebar placements. For instance I've got a placement that has 36 unique bars spaced at 8" accordingly. I'm wondering if anyone knows of a way that I could...

    Administrative image questions

The problem I'm having is that when I run the administrative upgrade via the html file it installs sw2007 fine with all of the options in the ini file, but then as soon as it is done installing it wants to remove sw2006 from the machine unless I cancel out of it. Here is my .ini file below...

    Anyone have a SpacePilot yet?

I just received a 3DConnexion SpacePilot from their eval program. All I can say about this is [shocked]!! The spacepilot is smoother, more ergo, and has all the right buttons you could ever need. Just like all of the other 3dconnexion products it's fully mappable. Even though the buttons...
