What are the best choices for a machinable plastic for use as a casting pattern, used in sand castings.?
Wood is commom, but i would like something that is a little more robust.

If i hard anodize a small eg, 3/4 inch barrel and also the housing it rotates in, will they be prone to galling? same alloys. Fit is not critical, as long as there free to turn easily. Will be subject to vibration and fuel oil mixture.

I have been told i need to heat treat S7 tool steel in a stainless bag to avoid de-carburisation. If the bag is sealed, wouldnt it pop from pressure buildup? of is this not an issue. I need to harden, then, temper to 58/60 Rc.

On a standard computer switchmode Ps i have, it is rated at 30A @ 5V, 25A @ 12V... etc. are these ratings total Eg, 30A
Max at 5V, with nothing on the other voltages, or can it supply 30A @ 5V, AND 25A @ 12V simultaneously ?

I often investment cast bronze, but customer demand is asking for 17/4PH, strong when heat treated, and holds a sharp edge well. Not having any luck finding info on casting of this metal. Any help appreciated.

I have searched here to no avail, as i know it was poted here once before. Impco LPG convertors have an arrow for orientation, what is the reason for this? i want to fit one and the neatest way is unfortunatly arrow down.

Im fitting a sanden 090 air comp comoressor to a small block chev. These are a scroll type unit, and im hoping a good one too. Not seeing any marking 'saying this way' etc i was going to mount it with the ports on the topside. Any other info on these compressors would be helpful.
