Can anyone give a brief explanation as to why there is such a price difference between a 4160v vs 13.2kv TEAAC 3600 rpm 5000hp Induction Motor? Also the Frame size is the same. What's the driving force which accounts for $500k vs $700k? Physical components which would account for this...
Why an 'O' type versus 'D' type watertube package boiler? What's the advantages or disadvantages? Also, why would one want a 4 burner design versus a single burner?
Given an 800hp G.E. Motor directly coupled to a fan why would the manufacturer stipulate the Motor as CW or CCW? I thought that three phase Motors could be reversed by simply switching stator conductors. There is no anti-rotation device.
What is the difference between motor 'Measurement of Temperature Method' when designated on motor data sheet as 'resistance' vs. 'RTD'? I understand that the RTD method of testing will better eliminate possible hot spots in the windings of a new motor.
API-541 Motor vs. Commercial Grade.
Is there a frame size increase (foot print) in selecting an API-541 since it has several upgrades that make it more robust?
Thanks
API-560 Section 11, should pertain to Fan Data Sheet.
Any suggestion of where I can find info related to this topic? Can seem to get results on googling.
Any general information out there that could help in the understanding of structural drawing nomenclature that would assist one in doing material take-offs for estimating purposes?
For stainless steel pipe schedule 10S, what does the S mean?
I've found references to suffix S in the schedule number is used to differentiate B36.19M pipe from B36.10M pipe.
Any info on these two?
Basics: I need to measure the fluid pressure in a 3" pipe and send the signal to a DCS. What would be a good simple pressure transmitter that could easily accomplish this? Is it possible to have an ac power input instead of dc. Most of what I've seen are 4-20ma output, but require a dc power input.
