I am looking for information on polymer and if dosing works as a ratio or if more is not better. We don't have a jar tester available but know that 5 gph of polymer @ 600 gpm works great but we raised the flow to 1000 gpm. Would by using a simple ratio be a way of calculating a new dosage or...
Is there a formula that can be used to calculate how much Alum and Polymer will be needed for a clarifier with a capacity of 249,000 gals and 1000 gpm coming in? I want to have a good sludge blanket and clear up a heavy floc that is starting to develop but not settle out. It sounds like from...
I was told about a new style metering pump where the chemical never touches the inside of the pump. A boot style drive compresses or stretches a larger diameter hose inside to create the back pressure to pump the liquid. Anyone have information on this style pump and who manufactures this type?
I am interested in finding how to calculate a raw water iron sample on a machine that doesn't read higher than 3.30. I know how to cut the sample down and retest it to get under 3.30, but am I adding the readings together each time tested? Thanks.
I lost the formula for calculating gpm into a tank without the use of a meter. The tank is 50' dia. x 17' high (249551.5 Gals.) Is it right that by dividing 1 foot (14679 gals.) of water by the time it takes the clarifier to rise one foot would give me the gpm? Any help would be appreciated.
I have a mixture of 7.5 ml Polymer to 1 gallon of water. how do I calculate the gallons used into lbs? I was given the fomula of Polymer gallons used times .016 but that doesn't look right. In the case of say Alum, it is the gallons used times 5.4.
