I'm working in AutoCAD 2006. I dimensioned an X-ref in paperspace and needed to zoom out to allow for some more room. After I zoomed out, I dimregen'd and it wouldn't do it.
If I actually copied the objects from the x-ref's dwg file and did the same exact thing, it works.
Why won't this work...
Is SolidWorks capable of utilizing a Duo Core processor? Most software these days isn't. Operating Systems for example - Windows Vista is "supposed to" be able to, but to my knowledge none of the current Windows OS currently do.
I need to buy a computer and I will require mobility. A laptop...
I am in a warzone and do not have access to any reference of such. Project Management wants to incorporate the RS Means format into all engineering SOW's.
I am not extremely familiar with the RS Means Format. I have been researching the format and it is quite in-depth. From what I understand...
Is it? It seems a thousand times slower than 2004. I'm in need of speed, not gee-gaws or eye candy. The company just switched to 2006 and all the eye candy seems to slow things down significantly.
Is there a way to shut off the gee-gaws to get things cranking again?
I have a large drawing of a building with a lot of detail. The drawing was drawn in milimeters. When I hatch a 6" area showing gravel under a slab, it is displayed as a bunch of straight lines all over the place. It doesn't look like the gravel hatch at all.
Is this some sort of error? Is there...
Is there such a plot style for civil drawings?
I am working on a huge drawing for renovating and adding on to an existing building. The drawing has electrical, mechanical, architectural and civil incorporated into it. A new CAD guy said we should plot everything in Greyscale, but utilizing a...
I've asked the 3 Civil engineers here at work and none of them know. There must be a general rule of thumb.
What is the minimum bending radius for rebar?
I have been under the impression from a civil designer, the minimum radius for rebar is three times the diameter of the rebar.
A civil...
I have a little understanding of this printing style/language. I have changed work sites and unfortunately I have a much lower quality plotter (hp designjet 500+HPGL2) than what I'm accustomed to (hp designjet 5500ps). I am unable to print a pdf sent to me from a subcontractor. I tried a pdf I...
When I started working with the drawing everything was fine. I am experienced with this program, but this just has me stumped. I had to piece together a couple of different survey drawings and put them in the proper coordinate system. The UCS maintained World UCS the entire time. The 2 survey...
A surveyor was down and had AutoCAD 2006 on his machine. He was trying to plot on our plotter, but he didn't have ANY color dependent plot styles. My group made some really nice plot styles.
Yesterday IT was asking the group if we wanted AutoCAD 2006, but I was hesitant due to the lack of plot...

Does NEiNastran function as well as, or better than COSMOS with SolidWorks? I think when Nastran is combined with SWx, it's called NEiWorks.
Thanks,
Jason
Hello, I'm in the market for a license of SWx, but I would also like a good FEA program to accompany SWx. I've heard about NENastran & COSMOS running with SolidWorks, but it appears everyone has a different opinion about them. I'm a mechanical designer and working in the Middle East. I'm...

I'm very familiar with Inventor Series. Advisor says SolidWorks is industry standard for true 3D.
Which package should I purchase?
How much does a license cost...
