We have a few buildings each has the following shutdown key logics on the ventilation louvers:
To open the louvers: H2S Hi, and LEL Hi
To close the louvers: H2S Hi Hi, LEL Hi Hi and fire detection eye
Can anyone help on what are the reasons for such logic; is this because of the code...
We have a coldbox - Aluminum material, for the application of natural gas treating. The coldbox is experiencing fouling and in need of cleaning. Because of the Aluminum construction, I’d like to understand if there is any special solvent can be used.
Thanks,
Gents,
Sulfidation occurs at high temperature. We currently have CS application of high sulphur content gas at temperature ~300C (H2S 2%, SO2 1%, CS2 0.1%) but low pressure (<40kPa).
I am looking at adding a fired heat exchanger to this stream, in which case, the heat exchanger tube temperature...
I have an SA-516-70 vessel 42” dia x 7/8” thick shell c/w 1” thick lifting lug which covers the seam of head and shell. This vessel has been PWHT’ed due to amine service, and has been hydroed, inspected and stamped. Subsequent to these an attachment weld was made to the lifting lug cross the...
SA-194 does not have Ni and Cr composition requirement for Gr 4, neither Ni composition requirement for Gr7. However, the MTR showed these compositions. Is any percentage acceptable for Gr4 and Gr7 or this has to be rejected?
Thanks in advance.

We have a few ball check valves with SW ends. The valve body and the piping are heat treated after welding. Now the check valves seem not seal. Would anyone advise the acceptance criteria for the leakage rate of the valves?
Thanks,

I have an application in which the fatigue cycle numbers exceeds the ASEM VIII-2 FIG 5-120, which only has maximum cycle number of 1 million. Our cycle numbers is in the range of 10 million. How should I deal with this case?
Thanks in advance.

Hi Gents:
Would anyone suggest 17Cr-4Ni-4Cu (UNS No S17400) properties to resist H2 embrittlement under elevated temperature and pressure, please?
Application pressure is 260 psig at a temperature of 950 deg F.
Thank you in advance.

Pressure components , pipes, welds, fittings, in a piping system, subject to cyclic fatigue condition could be assessed using Sec VIII, Div 2. How can I evaluate the suitability of valves in terms of different classes?
Thanks in Advance.
We are currently using normal carbon materials (not LT). However, there is an ISO V-test value requirement of not less than 27 J at a temperature of -15 deg C. Could anyone advise do the following ASME materials meet this requirement?
SA105
SA106 B
SA226 WCB
SA516 Gr 70
SA193 B7
Or do I have to...
Anyone has experince with post-weld stress relief for carbon steel piping welded to a casting part? What is the heating temperature? and holding time?
I would also appreciate if any references could be found.
Thanks in advance.
