I'm using Civil 3D 2009, I was wondering if there is a way to convert a polyline into a contour line. I can do this in Land Desktop, where I'll assign an elevation to the polyline and then digitize the polyline to a contour line. Is there a way to do this in 2009?
I'm using AutoCad 3D 2009, I was wondering if anyone knows of a way to track the elevations of a surface. I'm able to do it in Land Desktop companion 2009. I just cant seem to find it in Civil 3D 2009. Did they do away with this? Any tips are helpful.

I'm working in Civil 3d Land Desktop Companion 2008. I'm trying to dimension a solid in model space in the left view. I can't get the dimension to show up in that view only in the top view and its not the correct dimension? How do I fix this?
I'm having difficulty, when I click on the 'Open' folder in my command toolbar I get sent down to the command list and it says: 'enter file name to open <.>' how do I get back to just clicking on the 'open' folder and the file box to show up so I can select my drawing folder?
When I click on the Open Icon the File List doesn't display...instead in the Command center it shows: Enter name of file to open <.>...how do I get the Display to open instead of typing in the file name?
