I'm looking for a chart / table / formula to calculate the voltage and current drop in a cable. Ideally I'd like to see the effect of length and gauge of the lead. Also, I suspect that the actual values of the voltage and current will have an effect.

I'm lookign for help evaluating the diffusion rate of hydrogen in ferritic steel (pipeline), austenitic SS (309L), and Inconel 625 as it relates to temperature. I'm looking for the formulae that describes the movement. The concern is how far hydrogen can/will move in a given time at a given...
Here's one I can't wrap my head around...
I have two tubes of differing material, that are concentric to each other and bonded. At 2000F they are both solid and intimately bonded throughout. I now cool them to room temp...
The outer material has a COTE of 1 and then inner material is 2...
This might be too simple for those gifted in stats. For me, not so simple.
We inspect 5% of our pipe prior to PWHT. We inspect 100% of it after PWHT. The second inspect shows a defect rate of 6%. The first inspection shows a defect rate of 0%.
I am looking for the probability/likelyhood that...
Ok, I hate to ask a question like this with so little detail.... but I have to as it is bugging me.
Imagine a ~4"OD flange coming off a PV. Flange is about 18" long. It has been bent out of alignment.
No PV welders are available. It needs to be put back into alignment. Solutions?

Greetings,
I made the following measurements:
4.10, 3.98, 4.86, 4.39, 4.57, 4.44
I am being asked "what is the error." Thery want to know what the +/- is on my numbers. I have averaged them (4.39) and said +/- 2SD. I am tracking changes - so I will make these same measurements under a...
I'm having a heck of a time with this one - can't get a hold of the right people to solve this through "the authorities." So I'm looking for some guidance to help me when I do get a hold of these people.
We're being asked to fabricate (weld) internal pieces for a pressurized distallation...
This is a follow up to this thread....

I'm looking to achieve:
UTS - 180 ksi
YS - 150 ksi
HRC - 36 Minimum
Charpy - 60 J
Looking at the thread above I'm thinking of a Quench and double temper around 950F. But there was no mention of the impact...
The part is a 4145 tube (6" OD x 10" long x 1" wall). It will be austenitized and then needs to be heat treated to get a hardness of ~32HRc. Two options are being considered:
1) Quench to ~850F and hold for 1 hour - air cool.
2) Quench to ~700F and remove and air cool (martemper)
Both quenches...
I'm looking for a rare welding wire. My usual sources have found it but at outrageous prices. Any suggestions?
Metrode 316MnNF or Bohler Thermanit 19/15H. (Equivelants would be fine.)
I'm looking for help determining the raidal thermal expansion of a 4140 tube. It is 6" Outside Diameter with a 1" wall. Going from room temp to 2000F.
What will the dimensional changes in the radius be?
