I have decided to use the revision table built into solidworks. I have modified thetable to the size and content that I like but need it to count up in numbers rather than alphabetically.
Can the template be changed from alphabetic to numeric.
I have been reading these tips for a while now and have collected a number of great Macros.
I assing them to buttons on existing toolbars in what I feel is a logical sequence.
I would now like to create a custom toolbar rather than add to existing ones but I cannot find out hw to do this.
Can...
I like to create my own dimensions in a drawing rather than inserting model dimensions.
This is the first time I have used the drawing package of SW2005 and I am having a little difficulty.
For some reason every time I attach a dim to a threaded hole an M is inserted leading the dimension. If I...
I have sectioned through a tube that has a small tube welded inside it as a plain bearing housing. As this is a single part it is modeled as a part eventhough it is manufactured as a weldment.
To show that it is two parts I have drawn lines in the section view. I have also drawn a small...
I have just upgraded to 2005 and have noticed a general slowing down.
This is particularly bad when sketching. When drawing a line, circle or rectangle the line etc.. no longer follow the cursor. Also when placing dimensions the dimension does not move with the cursor.
I dont think it is a...
I am fairly new to Solid works, my previous history has been with Solid Edge. So excuse me if I am asking an obvious question.
Why when in an assembly and I edit a part, either in the assembly or part environment and I make changes I dont want. I select the dont save option when leaving the...
We have a large number of assemblies that we have saved as parts so that we can use them in other assemblies without having to load the whole thing over a network.
This works well untill I create a section view in the assembly. Suddenly no elements of the assembly saved as a part are...
We want to archive current issues of our drawings on CD. We can find no way to break the link between the drawing and the part other than saving as a tif file.
If this is so, is there a way to batch save our drawings to tiff files.
I am fairly certain that I am doing something wrong. But I seem unable to move views from sheet 1 to sheet 2 or 3 etc.
My particular problem is not being able to have a drawing on one sheet and the hole table on another.
Can someone help.
Can someone tell me how to modify the Hole callout data. The standard callouts are in lower case and give us too much information. I have found a file called calloutformat.txt but modifying this does not seem to alter anything. Does this have to be compiled or something.
Is there a utility or macro out there that will give a detailed BOM from the assembly environment. I am using one at the moment but it requires a degree of formating to be usable.
What I am after is a few of the properties (description, dwg No) and a part count.
I am new to Solid works, my experience has been from solid edge.
Is there a way of selecting components from the graphics window, or the assembly tree of an assembly and only viewing those items.
I have worked out a 'show all' and 'hide all' solution but I seem to have lost a lot of display...
