How can I change a helix to a sheet metal part?
The item O/D is 384mm,the I/D is 284. made from 10MM thick plate, with a single revolution 250mm pitch helix.
We would like to show the profile on a flat plate.
Is this possible in solidworks?

I've just spent most of the day trying to get my head around Solidworks animator and it's now driving me nut's.
I followed the online tutorial (oil pump) and saved it as an avi. file, Which took forever (low spec machine).
The movie it created though didn't show the pump housing fade out...
Could some one explian to me how to create a sheet metal part.
I need to make a storm screen element on solidworks.
The element is a perforated sheet i.e 300mm wide x 1000mm long.
I need to put 3 bends in it, all length ways to make an half cylinder shape with 2 cureled edges, if you can...
