    condensate temperature

Hi I am designing a condensate pipeline. I have a problem how to determine condensate temperature. The condensate pipeline is about 110 m long. Dividied in to two section in a building and outside. The pressure before steam traps is 6 bar. Behind the steam traps I lift the pipeline by 5 m. Then...

    condensate return pipeline

Hi I am designing return line which collects condensate from couple of steam traps. Steam pressure upstream control valves is 12 barg, control valves reduces steam pressure to 6 barg. The problem is that I need to lift my common line over a door. Usually I lift condensate from a single steam...

    pipe elbow FEA

Hi I want to check stress in carbon steel elbow (this is preinsulated underground hot water pipeline). I know all forces (axial, transverse, moment) but don't know where to put them. Should the elbow at one end should be constrained and on the other one I should put loads? Thanks in advance.

    steam mains air removing

Hi At the end of steam mains which works periodic (8 hrs per day) thermostatic air vent is installed. I wonder if there should be fitted check valve after thermostatic air vent to prevent air to come back when steam line is cold. What do you think?

    compressed air drip leg

Hi I just wonder if it is necessary to design drip leg for water residues before air preparation block (filter/regulator w manual drain + lubricator). Compressor is equipped with a refigerant air dryer. All piplines are in heated rooms. Chris

steampipeline for thermal processing of meat

Hi I’m designing steampipeline for thermal processing of meat. Steam at 0.5 g will be used in steam chambers for direct moisturizing. My question is what kind of materials I should use for pipes and fittings. I am thinking about 304L and tri-clamp connections. Is it a good choice? Chris

    Biomass drying

Hi I need to calculate heat demand for biomass drying. I know its weight and properties. For this purpose I would like to use some kind of outside floor heting. Any ideas? Thanks Chris

    medical gases

Hi Where I can find on the internet information about designing medical gases systems, or maybe anyone could recommend a book? Chris

Steam trap and temperature controlling valve

Hi I have a question. At a production plant I noticed hot water system heated by 6 bar g steam. Downstream of a heatexchanger was a temperature controlling valve and parallel to that valve was installed a steam trap. Could anyone explain me if it makes any sense bypassing controliing valve with...

    Lifting condensate

Hi everyone I need to lift condensate from a steam trap to a higher level (it is only 2 metres to discharge well and then drain to waste). Minimal pressure in steam main is 6 bar gauge. I know that 1 metre litft in pipework = 1 m head static pressure = 0.1 bar backpressure. Am I right that it...
