    Routing Question SW2007

I am using solidworks 2007 / microsoft XP with the routing add-in. Every time I create a route using a spline I get a bend radius error at the beginning of the route. I have been spending hours trying to correct these. Does anyone know how to correct these easily? I am routing wires and...

    Splines in drawings

Why are the splines that i draw in drawings coming out as jagged lines when i print? They look fine in my drawing view, during print and print preview they are jagged and look horrible. Thanks for any help on this.

Using a spline in a drawing

I am trying to show a sketch of some wires coming out of our part in a drawing. I don't want to model the wires in the part. I'm using the spline command on the drawing toolbar. When i draw the spline it looks fine in SW, but when i print or even print preview the spline changes to jagged...

    Thermal Analysis

I am wanting to conduct heat through a part and i would like to set it up such that the part starts at ambient (75F) and gets heated through conduction. I would like to see the effect of heat over a time period. I realize that this is vague but I'm not having a lot of luck with setting it up...

    Probe Results, Sensor

I'm having a tough time with the Probe Results command in Cosmosworks. I have a cylinder that I have probed many locations and I would like to simulate the probed locations on stress result and strain result plots. I have created the Sensor-1 that has all of my locations and even saved it to...

    BOM Question

I am using SW2007. Does anyone know how to overide the quantity in an excell based BOM and have SW retain the changes. We use materials in our assemblies, like solder and flux, that I would like to show up on our BOM as AR (As Required). I currently just save a blank part with our material part...

    ATI Question

My hard drive recently crashed and I have had to re-load my 2007 version of Solidworks. In doing so, the Use Software OpenGL button on my options menu is grayed out. I have uninstalled and reinstalled my video card driver, checked and made sure it is the correct one (downloaded directly off...

    Split line?

I am working with a closed end tube that I would like to perform a Cosmosworks FEA on. I am interested in seeing stress and deflection along the inside edge of the tube. Is there a way to create either a split line or just a sketched line that I can use to pick points off of in FEA? Hopefully...

    Pressure Vessel

I have a pressure vessel that I would like to be able to probe along a line to get displacement values and stresses. Is there anyway to do this without probing each point individually? I would like to know the displacement and stress at the single wall along the inside edge. Thanks for the help.

    BOM Override

Does anyone know of a way to override the quantity column in the excel based BOM? We are assembling our product with items that are "AR" (as required) and do not have a specific quantity. What we have done to assemble our product is create a blank part with the specified part number and...
