    3-bond vs. Permatex

    I've got an oil leak where my valve cover of my motorcycle engine bolts onto the head. The local bike shop says they use 3-bond 1104 gasket sealer but all I can find is Permatex. I understand that they are both silicone gasket sealers that do not harden and are meant for high temperature...

    unit conversion: ton of refrigeration to horsepower

    I'm trying to find the unit conversion as mentioned above. Generally speaking the conversion was 12,000 btu/hr to 5.2 hp. There was also a boiler hp conversion that was really different. I think I should be using 1 ton refrig = 12,000 btu/hr = 5.2 hp. Can someone verify this and if you...

    BSS 1452 Class 17

    I need to do a thickness calculation on a dryer roll which was manufactured in the U.K. by Black and Clawson in 1975. The nameplate is stamped TS=35000psi. The material is BSS 1452 Class 17. Does anyone know if there is an ASME equivalent for this material? Thanks in advance.
